It's always thrilling to introduce a new product with a unique story, and our latest fishing lure, the "JMT James Menold Twitch", is no exception. This lure isn't just a tool for anglers; it's a testament to the friendship and creativity that sprang from an unexpected encounter.

A Friendship Forged Online

Three years ago, I met an incredible person named James Menold through social media. I had posted an ad on Facebook selling some custom fishing jerseys and a pack of my lures, and James, from Mississippi, made a purchase. That transaction sparked a conversation that evolved into a meaningful friendship, despite the distance—I'm based in Wisconsin.

Challenges and Triumphs in Lure Design

One of the toughest challenges in this industry is gaining support for a new brand, especially for someone from my cultural background. Despite these differences, I was eager to keep James involved with Reel Fast in any way possible. Initially, my only product was the Ripple Stick, a basic lure modeled after the classic Gary Yamamoto Senko. With little experience in machining or CAD, my journey began with challenges, but my background in aerospace blueprint reading significantly streamlined the design process.

Innovation Through Collaboration

Over the next couple of years after meeting James, I designed seven more lures but only released four. The swimbait, one of the designs that didn’t make the cut initially, was later revisited.  Then, one day in early July 2024, James showed me a makeshift lure he had been using for years. Inspired, I quickly got to work, and less than two weeks later, he was testing a prototype on the lake. It took about three months to perfect it.

Launch of the JMT

Meet the newest addition to our lineup, the JMT. I confidently consider this bait one of the top lures for 2025. The unique tail design allows anglers to manipulate its movement with precision, offering an unparalleled fishing experience. We are excited to announce the pre-release sale of the JMT, marking a significant relaunch of Reel Fast Kustom Bait LLC. This lure will join our esteemed collection alongside the RC Worm, Mudd Turd, Ripple Stick, and Ripple Fly.
